Best Free Car Apps for Mazda Drivers

August 4th, 2021 by

All new Mazda vehicles are set with MAZDA CONNECT, which is an infotainment system that works to provide information and entertainment. Aside from this feature, our team here at Compass Mazda is going to provide a few suggestions for some of the best free car apps to utilize while you’re on the road. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not available yet, but there are plenty of other ways to get the features you need in your Mazda.

In order to navigate through the MAZDA CONNECT system, there is a multifunction Commander control on the center console. This allows users to browse through all the features on the full-color touch-screen display. Drivers can customize this control knob with shortcut buttons in order to use the system on the move with ease.

Which car apps should I use in my Mazda vehicle?

  1. Navigation – If you drive a newer Mazda vehicle, you’ll already have a navigation system through MAZDA CONNECT. However, if you prefer a different app, or have an older car, then there are other options. Google Maps is one of the most popular, and it’s constantly being updated to reflect the most accurate information. It saves recent history and displays multiple route options. Waze is another option that’s being more popular because information comes from other users such as accidents and traffic in real time.
  2. Vehicle History Log – If you’re looking for an app that helps to organize all your vehicle’s information including previous maintenance and fuel tracking, then the Car Maintenance & Gas Log by AUTOsist is perfect for iPhone users. For Android users, the app aCar offers the same type of tracking capabilities.
  3. Find Your Car – Most of us have parked in a crowded lot and had a hard time finding our vehicle afterwards. There are a few apps that help to pinpoint your location to avoid this dilemma. With an iPhone, drivers can download Find Your Car with AR. Android users oftentimes use the app Car Locator – for exactly that.
  4. Entertainment – Most of us are on the same page when it comes to a need for entertainment while we’re behind the wheel. Whether you’re looking to jam out to the latest pop songs or relax while you listen to a podcast, Spotify has it all. In order to utilize Spotify, or any other music player such as Pandora or Apple Music, drivers can connect their smartphone by AUX, USB or Bluetooth. Be sure to connect appropriately through the Entertainment section of MAZDA CONNECT in order to stream the music through the car.

Most of the time, drivers use these apps when they don’t have a MAZDA CONNECT system in their vehicle. However, these apps can be beneficial for all drivers. Those with questions are welcome to contact our team here at Compass Mazda for more information.
