The manual transmission may have gone out of style for most car shoppers, but many still desire the added degree of control and driving fun this kind of transmission provides. Does the 2020 Mazda3 offer a manual transmission?

The 2020 Mazda3 is available with both manual and automatic transmission options. The SKYACTIV®-MT six-speed manual transmission option is only available on the 2020 Mazda3 Premium trim level of the hatchback body style equipped with front-wheel drive.

All other trim levels utilize the SKYACTIV®-DRIVE six-speed automatic transmission.

2020 Mazda3 Engine Performance

All 2020 Mazda3 models will come powered by the SKYACTIV®-G 2.5-liter engine. Performance numbers for this engine check in at 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. The engine offers the available cylinder-deactivation feature designed to improve fuel economy ratings. Fuel efficiency numbers are estimated at up to 26 miles per gallon in the cities and 35 mpg on the highways for 30 mpg combined.

2020 Mazda3 Trim Levels and Features

The 2020 Mazda3 is available in multiple trim levels. Both Sedan and Hatchback versions of the car are offered in Base, Select, Preferred and Premium models. Drive systems available on the car include front-wheel drive and the i-ACTIV® AWD system.

Each trim level offers a different collection of features and technology systems. Features offered on the 2020 Mazda3 include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry, leatherette seating surfaces, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, automatic dual-zone climate control, a Bose premium 12-speaker sound system and the Active Driving Display.

2020 Mazda3 models offer the i-ACTIVSENSE® suite of driver assistance systems. Standard i-ACTIVSENSE® driver assistance systems offered on the 2020 Mazda3 hatchback includes Driver Attention Alert, Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop and Go function, Smart Brake Support, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning with Lane-Keep Assist and High Beam Control.
